"A Catholic Parish Family"
What is a Sacristan?
A sacristan is one who diligently arranges and prepares the liturgical books, vestments, and other things necessary for the celebration of Eucharistic Liturgy in the Catholic Church (GIRM 105). In addition to practical components, their work also contains sacred components of distribution of Holy Communion, assisting in safeguarding the Precious Body & Blood, and arranging the sacred vessels used in the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Duties and Responsibilities
At St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Ann Chapel, sacristans are scheduled for specific weekday and weekend Masses, funerals, and other special services. If anyone is interested in learning more about the duties and responsibilities of Sacristan, they are invited to call the parish office.
