"A Catholic Parish Family"
Safe Environment
The Diocese of Shreveport has implemented rigorous policies and programs to recognize and address that sexual and other abusive misconduct with minors is a special problem with a profound impact on the lives of those affected. These policies and programs are in place to provide for a safe environment for all children and persons who come in contact with those who minister, are employed, or volunteer in service of the Church.
Training for Volunteers
If one attends an initial training session at another location, it is requested that they please be sure to print their name on the sign-up roster, and the print the church parish they attend. If anyone plans to do any volunteer work of any sort for St. Joseph Catholic Church where youth are involved, they must be Safe Environment Certified.
Religious Education Instructors and Volunteers
ALL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION/PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (PSR) TEACHERS MUST BE CERTIFIED BEFORE THEY CAN BE ALLOWED TO TEACH PSR.
VIRTUS Online
The Diocese of Shreveport participates in VIRTUS. VIRTUS is the brand name that identifies best practices programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote "rightdoing" within religious organizations. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church.
